Cold and flu season here we come again!
Have you ever wondered why flu season is more prevelant in the winter months.
Well one major factor to this dreadful season is we lose sunlight. Most of us working class are indoors closed up with all of these nasty little bugs. By the time we get to go home the sun is sinking further into the night and we aren't able to cosume it's goodness. Well what does the sun do for us anyway you ask? Without it's existance there would be no plant life. Photosynthesis is where plants use the energy from the sun to make food for themselves and release oxygen to us.
UVB radiation from the sun allows us to make vitamin D. Dietary sources of vitamin D are inadequate and supplements can be dangerous with all of the fillers. 10 to 15 of unprotected sunlight daily is all you need. 20,000 americans die each year prematurely due to a lack of uvb/vitamin D. It has been proven that vitamin D helps boost the immune system and fight off viral infections such as the flu.
